The following questions and answers are provided to help with questions you might have. If you don't see the answer to your question here or elsewhere on the site, please drop me a line via email and I'll get you an answer as quickly as possible (and add your question to this list).

Where is The Crow’s Nest Escape located?

The studio is located in the SoDo district which is immediately south of downtown Seattle. It is very near the light-rail lines and a short walk from Safeco Field and Century Link (the Clink) field. Specific directions will be given to renters.

How many people can I bring with me during my time in the studio?

The rental rate is for 6 adults. If you have more than 6people renting the space a small additional surcharge of $50 is added to your total. There may be an additional $50 added for very large groups but we can discuss this upon your rental.

How many people can the space hold?

I estimate that 25 people can easily occupy the space without feeling overly crowded.

Are there cameras in the studio space?

May I take pictures/video while in the space?

You are welcome to take photos of yourself and those with you but I would prefer that you not take photos of the space. There are plenty of those on this site and so for privacy reasons, I will ask that you refrain from wide focus photography and limit your shots to focusing on the people within the space.

How private is the studio?

Very. With cement walls in every direction and no directly attached neighbors and a private entrance, your privacy is assured.

What if I accidentally break something that belongs to the studio while I am there, how will I be charged?

I have a 3-ring binder that has the replacement value for every item in the space. You will be charged the amount quoted in that binder. This value is how much it will cost me to replace the item and not the value of the item currently in the space. If anything is not functioning properly and slightly damaged before you rent the space, allowances will be made of course. You will be charged the full replacement value of any items that are simply missing.

How far in advance do I need to schedule and how far in advance can I schedule?

I have no advance scheduling requirements. If the space is available, you can rent it. Advanced scheduling gets you more time options but same day rentals are never a problem.

Is there a deposit required?

Yes and no. The minimum hourly rental rate is $100. When you arrive, I will charge your card that amount. It will be held as your deposit for the duration of your stay. When you check-out, that amount will be applied directly to your total charge and any extra amount owed will be collected at that time. I don't require a deposit to hold the space in advance.

Do you take checks or Pay-pal?

No. Cash and credit cards are the only accepted method of payment.

Do I have to bring my own towels or sheets?

No. Everything you need will be provided. There are towels for bathing (1 per person) and hand towels for use while you are in the space. One sheet for the bed and one sheet for the massage table is included in your rental. Extra towels and sheets are available for an extra charge. However you are more than welcome to bring any towels or sheets that you want for you own personal needs.

How high is the ceiling in the main space?

The ceilings are over 12 feet high so you should have plenty of head room for things such as flogging or whipping that require overhead clearance.

I like to do rope suspensions. Can that be done in the studio?

Yes. I have o-rings in the ceiling in the main play space which you are welcome to tie into. Only the o-ring and carabineers are provided. Riggers will need to provide any other equipment needed. Some ropes are available within the space for your use.

I enjoy BDSM play but don’t have a lot of gear, is there any for use in the studio?

I have a completely stocked cabinet full of impact tools/toys. You may rent that cabinet and all its contents for your visit. Because of the extra time involved by me to clean the items that you use from this cabinet to ensure that they are cleaned properly and usable by others, I add a $50 fee for the use of the toy cabinet. There are restraints (standing arm restraints, Velcroe leg restraints, chains and carabineers) which are available for your use without any additional charges.

You can also shop for some gear to bring with you to the space and use it at home as well. I recommend Fort Troff. Great gear (much of it you'll find in the studio) and exceptional customer service. I can't say enough great things about them.

I just want to use the space for a romantic evening with my partner and we aren’t into BDSM play, will the space be too edgy for us?

Not at all. I’ve decorated the space with “sexy” in mind rather than “dungeon”. I’ve used blue as the primary color throughout to keep the look lighter and sexier than a standard black leather dungeon. All the tools for BDSM play are locked in a cabinet and thus out of plain sight. There are pieces of equipment within the space that may be a little off-putting to the meeker individuals. If this is a problem for you, I’m happy to move them out of the main room and into storage for your session at no additional charge.

Can I get a massage while I’m there?

The rates quoted are only for space rental. If you would like to schedule a therapist for the time you in the space, you will need to set that up separately with that provider. I am happy to give you information on those I know in the area for you to contact directly.

Is there a hot tub or spa type services within the space?

There will be bubble bath and various soaps and gels for your use in the large claw foot tub located in the bathroom. There are facial masks and scrubs available for you to use during your visit. If you want some time in a hot tub or spa services, you can check with one of my neighbors at The Little Red Day Spa.
